Winter in Špindlerův Mlýn
It doesn't matter if you’re a child, a young couple or a pensioner. Mountains in the winter have their own unforgettable charm. The beauty will grab you and won’t let go. In the morning you can hit the ski slope right by the hotel. Then, in the afternoon, clip on your cross-country skis and head out for the snow covered mountain peaks. Just you, your skis and the crisp snow. Skol!
Specifically for children
Remember how much we all loved snow as kids? We rolled around in the snow until we had it down our necks and froze a time or two. We built snowmen large and small. We sleighed. We sledged. We rolled around just for fun. Some things do not change, and a child's enjoyment of snow is one of them. Visit us with your children, we are ready for the most demanding of little guests.
- Rent all the equipment you need to hit the slopes right by the hotel
- Register your children with the ski school and go out and enjoy skiing
- The Labská ski slope is perfect for beginners and is only 100 m from the hotel
- The animated program every Wednesday and Saturday in the afternoon is sure to be a hit
- They’ll meet up with the hotel's mascot, a large hedgehog, during breakfast and animations
- They’ll be sure to find a quiet corner with a large pillow to relax on in the reading room
- If it happens to be too cold for skiing or snowboarding, there’s still the playroom in the hotel
- And saving the best for last: the indoor pool
Ski slopes
Špindlerův Mlýn is truly the most popular winter resort in the Czech Republic. A total of 27 km of groomed ski slopes over 47 hectares awaits you. There are 18 tows and lifts to bring you to the top. You’ll feel the wind in your hair on 6 blue, 13 red and 3 black ski trails. There’s a free ski bus to shuttle you between the individual centres. The icing on top of the cake is most certainly the night-time skiing at Hromovka.
This ski slope is off to the side from the busier areas of Špindlerov Mlýn. It’s just 300 m from the hotel's entrance. The chairlift will take you up. The ski slope is a bit narrower and steeper at the beginning. But it quickly opens out into its full and more gentle beauty. It is the perfect choice for beginners and intermediate skiers. And what about the view of the Elbe dam and reservoir!
The most popular ski resort in all of Špindlerov Mlýn. It hosts national and international races. Not to worry, though, as the resort itself has a beautiful blue-rated ski slope where you will find it easy to learn to ski and practice smooth turns. More experienced skiers may enjoy the challenge of the black-rated FIS World Cup trail. It meets international parameters and hosts some of the world's most important and biggest ski races.
Take the chairlift up to an elevation of 1235 MASL. There's no higher point on the ski slope. From here, there are several blue ski runs for beginners, a red ski run for intermediate skiers and a black ski run for those who are more advanced.
Cross-country skiing
"This way’s a bit longer and much worse." That’s not a worry here. Choose from any one of the 90 km of groomed cross-country ski trails. See the majestic beauty of the snow-covered peaks of the Krkonoše Mountains all while getting a tremendous workout. Warm up along the way at any of the numerous chalets and then unwind in the evening in our sauna. Already planning a route?
